| When someone falls, he or she is usually in motion and most likely, they will slide on snow or ice. Is it risky? (It could be risky) In my experience, all I can say is when I started competing since 1991 at the world class level where we put ourselves at the maximum risk I have never encountered anyone involved from any serious injuries. Sure we all fall one time or another but we always wear the recommended safety gears which gives us great confidence. We have a good track record and we like to keep it that way. On a recreational level the risk is much lesser. All sports involve some risk therefore caution should be exercised at all times. A good practice is to use your superior judgement to avoid using your superior skills. |
