2009 SnowferFest Sailing Championship Agenda

There are only a limited number of hotels and motels in the area so be sure to make your reservation early.

Day

Event

Day 1 - Feb. 13 Participants to pick-up their race numbers, late registrants will be accepted on this day. A seminar will be held by the inventor Charles Chepregi. Topics include waxing, blade sharpening and techniques. A question and answer period to follow. Location to be determined. Time7:30 PM. Registration and Rental Hours: 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Day 2 - Feb. 14

Skipper’s meeting at the race site beside the Snowfer van at exactly 9:30 AM. Be ready for the first race by 10:00 AM. Lunch will be provided at 1:00 PM beside the Snowfer van (pizza & soft drinks). The next race will be scheduled at 2:00 PM ending at 5:00 PM.

Day 3 - Feb. 15

Skipper’s meeting same location at 9:30 AM. First race scheduled for 10:00 AM ending at 1:00 PM. Rental boards returned by 2:30 PM. Certificate presentation at 3:00 PM beside the Snowfer van.

PLEASE NOTE: If the schedule needs to be changed due to weather condition, new times will be posted on the Snowfer van. Race numbers must be properly secured and readable front and rear. Racers will be disqualified if numbers are not visible. Racers might be separated by classes depending on the number of race participants.

    Qualifications will be ruled by the following:

  • Men and women division judge separately.
  • 18 and under is Junior Class
  • 18 - 40 is Regular
  • 40 - 50 is Masters
  • 50 - 60 is Grandmasters
  • 60 + is Great Grandmasters

    The official race will be compose of 3 to 5 Mini-Marathons. Points will be assigned for each race with the possibility of one race being dropped (a minimum of three races must be counted). A Speed Trial will be held (weather permitting). Speed will be measured by a radar gun. To enter, simply complete and print out the registration form.
